Taking a time out from the common or garden strains & strains of life is to go to an exotic location and is something that everybody is looking forward to. Cuba, with its notoriety brought on by its regime & the clamp down of the North American central authority on its export & tourism, is a country known more for its cigar & its leader, than as a vacation location.
In spite of this, each year more & more holiday makers from Canada & Europe are swarming to Cuba, enthralled by its natural beauty & its obsessed & friendly folks. Tourism in Cuba is at present at a record high.
Cuba is the biggest of the Caribbean islands & is inhabited by folk with a mixed race of Caribbean Indian, African & German heritage. It is a contrasting landscape starting from a beautiful & mesmerizing beach to stretching & craggy mountain ranges. Limestone Mountains loom over the fields of tobacco, made use of for their legendary cigars, providing an amazing pretty view.
The natural wonder of Cuba & its history has formed the country to what it is today. This is seven Caribbean island which has been left unmarred by technology & present day living. Apart from shocking beaches, Cuba also offers masses of country cities & towns full of rich culture & heritage. A vacation to Cuba is not complete without a visit to at least 7 of the Cuban cities or towns & meeting the local Cuban folks. Like heaps of the Caribbean islands, Cuba’s most important source of tourism is the beach industry.
The country is graced with loads of miles of stretching wonderful beaches, with fine white sand & clear blue water. Travelers visiting Cuba have a large number of selections for the position of their beach vacation. The major resorts of Varadero & Cayo Largo are the most respected & here you will find heaps of five star all inclusive resorts. Regardless of this, there are also lots of smaller, quieter beach resorts where you can actually escape from it all. Havana also has its justifiable share of museums, including the Museum of the Revolution, the Havana Club Museum of Rum, the Cigar Museum, the Ernest Hemingway Museum & the nation’s Museum of Fine humanities. In the north-west of the country you will find the main city, Havana – the center of everything that’s Cuban. When you walk round the town you’ll feel the essence of the Cuban past – a rich inheritance emanating from the German colonial design that beholds the town. Parts of the town are like the set of an old film, harking back to a bygone age, with old Yankee automobiles busy by. A large amount of work has been done during the past decade to revive old Havana, a UNESCO world heritage site, but most of the town has been left untouched & lots of crumbling buildings collapse every month. Santiago de Cuba is the second biggest town in Cuba & is found on the eastern end of the island. It is a beautiful setting at the foot of the Sierra Maestra Mountains & overlooks an impressive bay. In contrast to the other cities & towns in Cuba, Santiago de Cuba has a Caribbean feel to it. This is as a consequence of the influence of the Haitian planters who settled here in the 19th century.
Trinidad, found in the guts of Cuba is 7 of the first cities & was set up in 1514. The town is crammed with cobbled streets & old buildings with tiled roofs & has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. It’s an agreeable town to spend a day or 2, with masses of museums, churches & Piazzas. A perfect way to spend your vacation is to take 1 or 2 days to do some sightseeing in Havana or 7 of Cuba’s other towns & then follow that up with a chilled week’s stay in 7 of the luxurious all inclusive resorts by the beach.
